Even though Yetuga marks your first boss battle in the game, don't expect a walk in the park. After mastering the combat mechanics in *The First Berserker: Khazan*, you'll need to leverage every skill to emerge victorious.
Yetuga, the aggressive adversary, doesn't hold back, launching frenetic attacks when its territory is threatened, particularly at the climax of the Mount Heinmach level. Like other towering beasts you’ve encountered, Yetuga unleashes both long and short-range attacks, including a formidable leaping slam.
Your approach will depend on your playstyle, but honing your dodging and parrying skills is crucial to minimizing damage. Yetuga's repertoire includes:
- A two-hit combo starting with a left-handed downward smash followed by a right-handed uppercut
- A four-hit combo with horizontal swipes using either its left or right arm
- A downward smash with both arms
- A leaping single-handed smash
- A jumping grab
- A charge
As you engage, you'll start to recognize Yetuga’s attack patterns, allowing you to strike between its assaults. Parrying is your friend here, except for the jumping grab, as it enables you to inflict more Stamina damage. You can use Yetuga's aggression to your advantage. By dodging its charge and letting it crash into a wall, you’ll have a brief window to attack. This is your chance to break the ice spikes on its back, significantly weakening its offensive capabilities.

In the second phase, you can parry all attacks except the grab, which also helps conserve your Stamina. Maintain relentless pressure to force Yetuga into its next transformation. Once the beast roars and powers up, keep your distance.
Yetuga will then wield a giant rock to smash at you; time your dodge or parry perfectly to evade the damage. It will also unleash a frost breath that forms ice spikes, so either retreat or parry as it reaches you. Seize opportunities to unleash Potent Attacks, and when Yetuga tires, execute a Brutal Attack to deal significant damage. With persistence, Yetuga will soon fall.
Upon defeating Yetuga, you'll be rewarded with 4,800 Lacrima, along with Frozen Mountain gear items and the Necklace of Resolve.
