Destiny Child is Reborn: A New Idle RPG is Coming
Destiny Child, the popular mobile game initially launched in 2016, is making a triumphant return. Following its September 2023 "memorial" closure, Com2uS has partnered with ShiftUp to create a brand-new iteration of the game.
A Fresh Take on a Classic:
This isn't a simple relaunch; Com2uS is developing an entirely new Destiny Child title, an idle RPG, under the banner of its subsidiary, Tiki Taka Studio (known for titles like Arcana Tactics). While retaining the beloved aesthetic of the original game, including its charming 2D characters, Com2uS promises a fresh gameplay experience with innovative mechanics.
Revisiting the Past (for Some):
The original Destiny Child, celebrated for its captivating characters and real-time battles, concluded its run after nearly seven years. However, ShiftUp released a "Memorial" version, allowing former players to revisit the game's stunning character art and reminisce about their collected Childs.
Access to the Memorial version is restricted to players who possessed accounts before the game's shutdown, requiring a verification code linked to prior game data. While lacking the full gameplay experience, the Memorial provides a nostalgic trip down memory lane, preserving the Childs and their classes for those who can access it.
