Digimon enthusiasts, brace yourselves! Bandai Namco unveiled a thrilling new addition to the franchise at DIGIMON CON 2025: Digimon Alysion, a mobile trading card game (TCG) now in development. This exciting announcement was made during the livestream on March 20, signaling Bandai Namco's intent to capture the growing mobile TCG market, following the success of games like Pokémon TCG Pocket and Marvel Snap.
Digimon Alysion is designed as a free-to-play digital trading card game, allowing players to collect cards featuring various Digimon and characters from the franchise. Players can build their decks and engage in battles with others, much like other popular mobile TCGs. However, what sets Digimon Alysion apart is its planned in-depth story mode, which promises to offer players a rich narrative experience alongside the usual competitive play.
The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer that provided glimpses of the gameplay and introduced an all-female cast speculated to be part of the story mode. New characters such as Kanata Hondo, Futre, and Valner Dragnogh, along with a new Digimon called Gemmon, were showcased. While an official release date for Digimon Alysion has not been announced, Bandai has teased an upcoming closed beta test, with more details to follow.
