Epic Games offers Loop Hero and Chuchel for free this week

Author : Layla May 18,2025

For those not in the know, it may surprise you to learn that the Epic Games Store for mobile follows its PC equivalent's example by offering free games available to claim for a limited time. Even better, on mobile, it's not monthly but weekly, and you get two games instead of one!

As for what we've got on offer in the last week of April, there are two great releases now available completely free: Loop Hero and Chuchel. Frequent readers might recognize Loop Hero immediately as it's one of our favorites here at Pocket Gamer, with Jack giving it a glowing review. Offering an engaging roguelike experience, if you play nothing else from this pair, then play Loop Hero.

But, what exactly is Chuchel, then? Well, this surreal animated adventure follows the titular Chuchel in pursuit of his stolen cherry. Along the way, he and his rival Kekel will get into all manner of hilarious and weird situations that you either need to work your way out of or watch unfold.

ytFree-for-allChuchel was a bit confusing but still a fun experience for our App Army when they reviewed it upon release. And even if it's not what you'd usually play, you can hardly argue with the low, low price of free. Meanwhile, Loop Hero is heartily recommended for its mix of challenging gameplay and lush pixel visuals.

The Epic Games Store for mobile offers many of the perks of its PC counterpart, such as the aforementioned free releases and, of course, access to games like Fortnite, which are otherwise unavailable on mobile.

Looking to expand your palate a bit more? Well, why not dig into our list of the top five new mobile games to try this week for even more top options on mobile, drawn from the best launches of the last seven days.
