Forza Horizon 5 Now on PS5

Author : Madison May 14,2025

In a surprising twist for gaming enthusiasts, Xbox's renowned racing title, Forza Horizon 5, is set to make its way to PlayStation. Playground Games made this unexpected announcement, revealing that the latest installment in the Forza Horizon series will be available on the PS5 this spring. This move marks yet another Xbox exclusive transitioning to the PlayStation platform, following the likes of Sea of Thieves and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

The PlayStation 5 version of Forza Horizon 5 has been crafted by Panic Button, in collaboration with Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games. Players can expect the same rich content found in the Xbox and PC versions. Additionally, the PS5 edition will include all the Car Packs, along with the thrilling Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure expansions, ensuring a comprehensive gaming experience.

PlayThis strategic shift comes as Xbox shows increasing interest in broadening its game availability across non-Xbox platforms, including PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. Xbox's head, Phil Spencer, has openly confirmed the company's plans to support the upcoming Switch 2.

Recent financial insights from Microsoft's investor call shed light on Xbox's performance. While Indiana Jones and the Great Circle attracted 4 million players and Game Pass on PC saw a 30% growth, boosting service revenue by 2%, the overall gaming revenue experienced a decline, with console sales plummeting by nearly 30%. This downturn may be pushing Xbox to focus more on expanding Game Pass and making its titles available on a wider array of hardware.

Forza Horizon 5 continues the tradition of the open-world racing genre. Offering a more arcade-style experience compared to its simulation-focused counterpart, Forza Motorsport, the game invites players to race and explore the stunning landscapes of Mexico.
