In the thrilling world of Freedom Wars Remastered, players, known as Sinners, battle monstrous Abductors to safeguard humanity in a dystopian future. Enhancing combat prowess is crucial, and this can be achieved by upgrading weapons and accessories. Upgrading not only improves base stats but also allows the addition of modules that offer various enhancements.
Players can begin upgrading their weapons early in the game, eliminating the need to rely solely on mission rewards or enemy drops. This comprehensive guide will walk you through how to upgrade weapons and accessories in Freedom Wars Remastered.
How To Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered
To start upgrading weapons in Freedom Wars Remastered, players need to advance in the main storyline until they reach Level 002 Code Clearance. At this point, CODE 2 Sinners unlock the Facility Management Function through the Personal Responsibility Portal. Within the Weapon Development Facility, players can manage and upgrade their arsenal. Upgrades require specific resources and Entitlement Points, but costs can be mitigated by recruiting a Citizen. Various Citizens are available, each with a different Facility Manager Aptitude that affects the reduction rate of upgrade costs. Though it may seem complex at first, the system becomes intuitive with use.
Before proceeding with an upgrade, players can preview the stat changes their weapon will undergo. The Weapon Development Facility also enables the addition of Elements and the experimentation with Modules and Module Slots. To elevate a weapon to a higher Grade, players must first acquire the necessary permit from the Claim Entitlement tab on the Window of Liberty.
Should You Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered?
During the initial stages of the main story, missions typically do not yield high-Grade weapons as rewards. Although players can buy weapons and other combat items from Zakka in The Warren, most of these are limited to Grade Level 1, making upgrades nearly indispensable. One of the CODE 3 Exams necessitates obtaining higher Grade Development Facility Permits, which allows players to upgrade their preferred weapon and retain it, while donating lower-Grade weapons obtained during missions for a reduced sentence and additional Entitlement Points.
The first upgrade in the Weapon Development Facility unlocks the "In Search of the Strongest Weapon" trophy/achievement, with additional achievements linked to the upgrading system, making it particularly attractive for trophy hunters. The significant damage disparity between weapons of different Grades incentivizes players to invest time in enhancing their gear.
Later in the game, players can also access the Ability Development Facility through Facility Management, further expanding their upgrade options.
