"Ghost of Yotei" Gameplay Reveal at July State of Play, Nears Oct Launch

Author : Patrick Oct 10,2025

Sucker Punch Productions will showcase a Ghost of Yōtei gameplay deep dive during a dedicated State of Play event next month.

A PlayStation Blog post confirmed this special reveal following June 2025's State of Play showcase, promising an in-depth look at how the samurai sequel has evolved. While Ghost of Yōtei made a brief appearance at the end of the presentation, it primarily served as confirmation that Sucker Punch remains focused on hitting its October launch target.

Though fans may have been disappointed by the sequel's fleeting appearance, the July State of Play promises to deliver substantial gameplay details to tide players over. While no exact date has been set, Sucker Punch confirmed this specialized presentation will focus exclusively on Ghost of Yōtei's "enhanced gameplay systems, from exploration and combat to other key features."

The studio officially unveiled its Ghost of Tsushima follow-up last September, introducing new protagonist Atsu and her brutal journey through 1603 Japan. While details have been scarce since the 2020 original captivated players, director Nate Fox assures the sequel will maintain the same "culturally respectful approach" that defined the first game's portrayal of Japan.

Ghost of Yōtei launches October 2, 2025 exclusively for PS5. For complete coverage of June 2025's State of Play announcements, click here. To stay informed while awaiting more details, explore our comprehensive Ghost of Yōtei guide covering all currently known information.
