Google Play Store may soon introduce a game-changing feature: automatic app launch upon installation. This potential addition, uncovered through an APK teardown, could eliminate the extra steps of locating and opening newly downloaded apps.
The Details
According to Android Authority, the upcoming feature, tentatively named "App Auto Open," will offer users the convenience of automatic app launches post-download. This means no more hunting for app icons; the app will open immediately upon successful installation.
The feature's status remains unofficial, as it's based on analysis of Play Store version 41.4.19. However, if implemented, it will be entirely optional, allowing users to enable or disable the auto-launch function as desired.
How it Might Work
Upon app completion, a brief (approximately 5-second) notification banner will appear at the top of the screen, potentially accompanied by a sound or vibration alert. This ensures timely notification, even amidst other activities.
While an official release date is currently unavailable, any updates from Google will be shared promptly. In the meantime, check out our other recent news, including the Android release of Hyper Light Drifter Special Edition.
