Stardew Valley offers a rich tapestry of activities, from farming and mining to fishing. Beyond gathering resources, players can craft their own artisanal goods and preserves. This guide explains how to create Spice Berry Jelly in Stardew Valley.
How To Get the Preserves Jar in Stardew Valley
The Preserves Jar is used to produce Pickles, Caviar, Aged Roe, and Jelly. You can earn it as a reward for finishing the Quality Crops Bundle at the Community Centre or by reaching farming level 4.
Jelly can be crafted using either homegrown or foraged fruit. Once you have the Preserves Jar, you can make Spice Berry Jelly during Summer. Spice Berries can also be found anytime in the Farm Cave or cultivated in the Greenhouse using Summer Seeds.
To obtain the Preserves Jar through the Community Centre, you must contribute three of the following "gold quality" crops: pumpkins, melons, corn, or parsnips. You'll need five of each selected crop—for example, 5 gold-quality Corn, 5 Pumpkins, and 5 Parsnips.

Once the Preserves Jar is available, making Spice Berry Jelly is a simple process.

How To Make Spice Berry Jelly in Stardew Valley
Gather Spice Berries: Search for them outdoors in Summer or inside the Farm Cave year-round. You can also use a Seed Maker with a Spice Berry to get Summer Seeds for planting. Build a Preserves Jar: Once unlocked, craft the jar using 50 Wood, 40 Stone, and 8 Coal. Finishing the Quality Crops Bundle rewards you with one Preserves Jar. Creating the Jelly: Place a Spice Berry into the Preserves Jar. The jelly-making process takes about two to three in-game days (or 54 hours) to finish. For optimal use, begin the process before stepping away from your farm, such as when going to sleep or mining. The jar will pulse as the jelly forms. Collect Your Jelly: When ready, a Spice Berry Jelly icon will appear above the jar. Collect it to restore energy during your adventures or sell it for 160 gold.
Crafting jelly adds another valuable skill for Stardew Valley farmers. It creates new income opportunities and helps players shape a thriving farm while contributing to the wider community.
