How to Unlock the Monster (Squid) Hunter Trophy/Achievement in Monster Hunter Wilds
While fishing might not be central to your main progress in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, it provides a delightful diversion and its own unique questline. This questline will equip you with the necessary tools to pursue the coveted trophy and achievement.
To begin, you must embark on Kanya’s fishing questline. This involves completing a series of side quests by gathering the required items:
- Seeking the Goldenfish: Head to the caves where pools of water contain the elusive Goldenfish. The Scarlet Forest in Area 6 is a prime location, especially during the Fallow weather state. Use either the Golden Bughead or Common Wood Minnow baits to increase your chances of a successful catch.
Fishing for Favor: Next up is the Gravid Bowfin, which can be found at the Scarlet Forest base camp during the Plenty weather condition. Equip the Emerald Jitterbait and cast your line to secure this catch.
The Catch of a Lifetime!: Kanya's final task before the big prize is to reel in a Whopper. Any large fish that triggers the reeling minigame will do, but the Tuna found in the lake at Area 17 of the Scarlet Forest is a popular choice. Patience is key here as you aim to land the big one. 
After completing these tasks, Kanya will introduce the Razzle Dazzle quest, which is your gateway to the Monster (Squid) Hunter trophy or achievement. Here’s how to achieve it:
- Travel to the Scarlet Forest, specifically Area 17. The weather must be Downpour in Inclemency. You can either use the grill to wait it out or rest at your camp to change the weather conditions.
- Once in Area 17, proceed to the lake and wade into the deep end until you can't go further. Look for squids swimming around. If none appear, fast travel to another location and return to potentially trigger their spawn.
- Equip the Tentacle Jig provided by Kanya and start fishing. Although the quest asks for the Grand Escunite, your real target for the trophy and achievement is the Goliath Squid. Focus on the squids with glowing blue shells.
- If you hook a squid and the reeling minigame begins, you're on the right track. Keep reeling it in until it tires out, then pull it to the shore to claim it as yours, unlocking the coveted trophy or achievement.
