Metro 2033's "Cursed" Mission: A Comprehensive Guide
Despite its age, Metro 2033 remains a fan favorite, experiencing renewed interest thanks to Metro Awakening. This guide focuses on the challenging "Cursed" mission, often confusing for players due to unclear objectives and the station's layout. The mission begins after the railcar ride to Turgenevskaya station.
Locating the Bomb
After reaching the defenders by the barricaded escalators, you'll learn an explosives team went missing while attempting to collapse a tunnel. Your task: find and detonate the bomb. Nosalises will attack relentlessly. Retreat to the defenders for support if overwhelmed – expect to do this at least once. The bomb is at the far end of the right-hand tunnel. Avoid the ghostly shadows; they'll damage you. Once you have the bomb, either proceed to the adjacent tunnel or retreat if needed.
Destroying the Tunnel
To detonate the bomb, enter the left-hand tunnel (from the defenders' perspective) and wait for the cutscene. Artyom automatically plants and lights the fuse; escape immediately to avoid the blast. Alternatively, a grenade or pipe bomb in the same area will also collapse the tunnel. Note: Nosalises can still enter through other routes.
Destroying the Airlock
To fully secure the station, destroy the airlock. Take the right-hand stairs to the torchlit area. Ignore the nosalises. Interact with the support columns to place a pipe bomb; evacuate immediately after lighting the fuse. With both entrances destroyed, proceed with Khan to the shrine room and the next mission, "Armory."
