Hades 2 Confirmed as Nintendo Switch Timed Exclusive

Author : Christopher Oct 04,2025

Hades 2 is set to arrive on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 as a timed console exclusive.

Though an exact release date remains unconfirmed, developer Supergiant has verified that this hotly anticipated sequel will debut simultaneously on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and the original Switch later this year.

While last week's Nintendo Direct already revealed Hades 2 would come to Nintendo's enhanced Switch 2 platform, Supergiant has now clarified that the game won't merely be available on both Switch models—it will also be a timed exclusive for Nintendo consoles.

"Hades II v1.0 will launch simultaneously on our Early Access platforms (Steam and Epic Games Store), Nintendo Switch 2, and the original Nintendo Switch," the studio stated in a recent X/Twitter post.

Currently, there's no timeline for when Hades 2 might expand to other gaming platforms like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Hades 2 builds upon Supergiant's critically acclaimed original, blending captivating narrative with roguelite dungeon-crawling action.

In IGN's Hades 2 early-access review (where it earned a 9/10 score), we noted: "Hades 2 feels impossibly huge and unbelievably polished by any standard, much less an early access game. Mel is awesome, the new combat and progression tweaks are excellent, and it's astonishingly feature-rich with double the content of its predecessor."

"What's available at launch is remarkable, and the promise of future additions makes this even more exciting."
