Master the Dual Outfit Technique in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered!
This guide details how to combine the benefits of two outfits in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, enhancing your gameplay experience. Note that this is a feature exclusive to the Remastered version.
Remastered Version Required
The ability to leverage the effects of two outfits simultaneously is a feature introduced with the Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered edition and its transmog functionality. This allows you to retain the stats of one outfit while visually wearing another.
Outfit Requirements
This dual outfit method has limitations. While your primary outfit can be any you choose, your secondary outfit (for visual appearance only) must be one of the following Banuk Werak outfits from the Frozen Wilds DLC:
- Banuk Werak Runner
- Banuk Werak Chieftain
- Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (New Game+ only)
Access to these outfits requires progressing into the Frozen Wilds DLC, but completing the main game isn't necessary.
Acquiring the Banuk Werak Outfits
Banuk Werak Runner
Reach the Frozen Wilds by defeating the initial machine guarding the area. Adjust difficulty if needed. Locate a Bluegleam Merchant (marked by a blue merchant icon) and purchase the Banuk Werak Runner outfit.
Resource | Normal Cost | Ultra Hard Cost |
---|---|---|
Metal Shards | 1000 | 5000 |
Desert Glass | 10 | 20 |
Slagshine Glass | 10 | 20 |
Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept
Obtain the Banuk Werak Chieftain (or Adept in NG+) by completing the "For the Werak" quest – the third main quest in the Frozen Wilds DLC. Consider lowering the difficulty if you find it challenging.
Combining Outfit Effects
Here's how to combine the benefits:
- Equip your primary outfit: Choose the outfit with the desired stats, remembering that Weaves can enhance these stats.
- Utilize Transmog: Use the transmog feature to apply the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits. These provide a passive auto-healing effect after taking damage.
This allows you to retain your primary outfit's superior stats while benefiting from the auto-healing provided by the Banuk Werak outfits. The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept offer faster healing than the Runner. Combining this with a powerful outfit like the Shield-Weaver makes you incredibly resilient.
