Insomniac Games almost gave us Resistance 4. While a pitch for the game was made, according to Insomniac founder and retiring president Ted Price, it unfortunately didn't align with market opportunities and timing. In a recent interview with Kinda Funny Games, Price revealed this unmade title as a personal favorite, highlighting the team's passion for the series' unique alternate history and the potential for further exploration of the Chimera.
The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters developed by Insomniac for the PlayStation 3, depicts an alternate 1951 where aliens invade the UK. Following the success of the Resistance games, Insomniac shifted focus to projects like the Marvel’s Spider-Man series and new entries in the Ratchet and Clank franchise.
Price's recent retirement announcement after over three decades at Insomniac Games has ushered in a new era, with Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang taking the reins as Co-Studio Heads. Insomniac's latest release, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, recently launched on PC, and the studio's next project is the highly anticipated Marvel’s Wolverine.
