Jack Quaid Expresses Interest in Starring in BioShock Film Adaptation

The Boys Actor Eyes BioShock Movie Role

Jack Quaid, known for his role in The Boys, has revealed his enthusiasm for potentially starring in a live-action BioShock adaptation. During a Reddit AMA promoting his new film Novocaine, Quaid called BioShock "one of my favorite games of all time" and praised its expansive lore.

"I would absolutely love to be part of a BioShock adaptation," Quaid stated. "The game's universe offers such rich storytelling potential for either film or television."

BioShock Film's Development Status

The project's future remains uncertain following production changes. Last July, producer Roy Lee confirmed the Netflix adaptation underwent significant revisions under new leadership, resulting in a more intimate approach with a reduced budget.

Francis Lawrence (The Hunger Games) remains attached as director, though plot details remain undisclosed. "We're crafting a more personal narrative rather than an epic-scale production," Lee explained.

The Max Payne Resemblance

Quaid's comments coincide with fan observations about his striking resemblance to Max Payne, whose character design was based on Remedy writer Sam Lake. Certain scenes from Novocaine have fueled speculation about an unofficial Max Payne adaptation.

"Live action Max Payne. The resemblance is uncanny. Even the female lead evokes Max Payne 2. It's like watching the game come to life."

Quaid acknowledged the comparisons: "People keep mentioning the likeness, and honestly, I see it too when I look at the game art. While I'm a Rockstar fan, I haven't played Max Payne yet—it's definitely on my playlist."

Quaid's Gaming Preferences

The actor also discussed his passion for challenging games, particularly FromSoftware's catalog: "I recently conquered Bloodborne and Sekiro, and now I'm fully immersed in Elden Ring. These games initially intimidated me, but their difficulty ultimately became their greatest appeal."

Quaid humorously admitted using Reddit primarily for boss-fight strategies: "I've become completely addicted to these masocore experiences—they've completely changed my approach to gaming."
