The demon hunting is about to get animated as Netflix brings the iconic video game series *Devil May Cry* to life in a new anime adaptation. Fans got a thrilling glimpse of what's to come with a brand new trailer that the streaming giant just released. Adding to the excitement, the legendary late voice actor Kevin Conroy will posthumously lend his voice to the series, marking another posthumous performance following his acclaimed work in *Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 3* in July 2024.
Conroy, celebrated for his iconic portrayal of Bruce Wayne and Batman across numerous animated projects, takes on the role of VP Baines in *Devil May Cry*. His voice can be heard in the opening of the trailer, introducing fans to this new character. Conroy's untimely passing in November 2022 at the age of 66 left a void in the voice acting community, making his final performances all the more poignant.
Joining Conroy in the cast are Scout Taylor-Compton as Mary, Hoon Lee as White Rabbit, Chris Coppola as Enzo, and Johnny Yong Bosch voicing the protagonist, Dante. According to Netflix's official synopsis, "Sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck."
Adi Shankar, known for his work on films like the 2012 *Dredd* reboot, *Killing Them Softly*, and *The Voices*, will serve as the showrunner for the series. Shankar is also attached to an *Assassin's Creed* adaptation, though its release remains uncertain since its announcement in 2017. The production of *Devil May Cry* will be handled by Studio Mir, the South Korean studio renowned for their work on *The Legend of Korra* and *X-Men '97*.
Mark your calendars: *Devil May Cry* is set to premiere on Netflix on April 3, 2025. Get ready to dive into the thrilling world of demon hunting with this highly anticipated anime series.
