King of Fighters ALLSTAR to Shut Down in October 2024

Netmarble's popular mobile beat 'em up ARPG, King of Fighters ALLSTAR, will be ending service on October 30th, 2024. This announcement, made via the official Netmarble forums, confirms that in-app purchases have already been disabled.

The closure comes as a surprise, given the game's six-year run and numerous successful collaborations with other prominent fighting game franchises. The game, based on SNK's King of Fighters series, has enjoyed considerable success.

According to a more detailed developer statement, a contributing factor to the shutdown appears to be the depletion of characters available for adaptation from the KoF roster. While this is likely not the sole reason, it provides some context to the decision.
