Legendary Dynamax Raids Unveiled by Pokemon GO

Pokemon GO Leaks Upcoming Dynamax Raids Featuring Legendary Birds

A recent, quickly deleted tweet from the official Pokémon GO Saudi Arabia Twitter account revealed an exciting upcoming event: Dynamax Raids featuring Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno! The event is reportedly scheduled for January 20th to February 3rd.

This leak marks a significant development, as these Kanto legendary birds would be the first legendary Pokémon to appear in Dynamax Raid form within Pokémon GO. While Dynamax Pokémon were introduced in September 2024, this would be a first for legendary creatures. The Kanto trio's enduring popularity in the Pokémon community makes this a highly anticipated event. Players have previously encountered these birds (and their Shiny forms) in standard raids, and the Galarian variants in Daily Incense (though with lower spawn rates). Shiny Galarian versions have been available since October 2024.

The accidental reveal, spotted by Reddit user nintendo101, may indicate the developers weren't quite ready to announce the news. The subsequent deletion of the tweet suggests a premature release of information.

The inclusion of these legendary birds in Dynamax Raids could significantly boost the popularity of Max Battles, which have faced some criticism from players. Previous Max Raids, particularly due to the requirement of 40 players, have drawn negative feedback. Whether this will be an issue with the legendary Dynamax Raids remains to be seen.

This leak hints at the possibility of more iconic legendary Pokémon receiving the Dynamax treatment in future Max Raids. Given that Pokémon Sword and Shield featured Dynamax forms of Mewtwo, Ho-Oh, and others, it's plausible that Pokémon GO will follow suit.

Pokémon GO's 2025 event schedule is already packed. Confirmed events include a Community Day Classic featuring Ralts on January 25th, a Shadow Raid Day with Shadow Ho-Oh on January 19th (offering up to seven free Raid Passes), and Pokémon GO Fest 2025 in Osaka, Jersey City, and Paris. The addition of the legendary bird Dynamax Raids only adds to the excitement.
