EA is reportedly planning to bring many of its popular game titles to the Nintendo Switch 2. This was revealed by EA CEO Andrew Wilson during a recent financial call. He specifically highlighted the potential success of Madden, EA SPORTS FC, and The Sims on the new console, citing the opportunity to reach new players and expand existing communities. Wilson emphasized the strong historical performance of EA titles on Nintendo platforms.
While the announcement of Madden and EA SPORTS FC on the Switch 2 isn't unexpected, the question of feature parity remains. EA has previously released "legacy" versions of FIFA on Nintendo consoles, but more recently has strived for greater consistency across platforms. The increased power of the Switch 2 suggests that future iterations of EA SPORTS FC could offer a more comparable experience to those on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
The Switch 2's game lineup is steadily taking shape. Numerous third-party titles are rumored, including Civilization VII, Greedfall 2, Test Drive Unlimited, RoboCop: Rogue City, and the highly anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong. Firaxis, the developer of Civilization VII, expressed interest in the Switch 2's reported Joy-Con mouse functionality. Nacon, a prominent publisher, confirmed its readiness to launch Switch 2 titles. Additionally, Nintendo is developing a new Mario Kart installment, with further details expected during an April Nintendo Direct.
