To catch Ditto in *Pokemon GO*, you first need to familiarize yourself with its latest disguises, which include a variety of different Pocket Monsters. Ditto, known as the Transform Pokemon, has been a part of the game for years, and its unique ability to hide as other creatures adds an exciting layer of challenge to the game, similar to the mechanics introduced with Zorua.
The disguises Ditto can take on change over time, but we have the most current list for you right here.

As of March 2025, the latest Ditto disguises you need to watch out for in *Pokemon GO* include Bergmite, Bidoof, Goldeen, Gothita, Koffing, Numel, Oddish, Rhyhorn, Solosis, Spinarak, and Stufful. These disguises are depicted in the image above.
If you encounter and catch any of these Pokemon as regular wild spawns on your in-game map, there's a chance they could be a hidden Ditto. The way to identify Ditto in *Pokemon GO* is by catching the Pokemon in its disguised form; it will then revert to its original Ditto form before you reach the catch screen, where you can decide whether to keep or transfer it.
You'll know you've successfully caught a disguised Ditto when you see an "Oh?" pop up over your PokeBall. After that, the caught Pokemon will transform into Ditto, and you'll have captured the elusive, gooey-looking Pocket Monster.

How Rare is Ditto in Pokemon GO?
Even with knowledge of its latest disguises, Ditto remains relatively rare in *Pokemon GO*. However, there's a key indicator to help you spot a disguised Ditto: its low CP. When transformed, Ditto's CP is typically lower than that of the Pokemon it mimics. For example, if you're a Level 50 Trainer, Ditto's max CP would be around 940, while Goldeen's max CP is approximately 1302.
So, while Ditto is rarer than a standard common spawn, watching for Pokemon with unusually low CP can increase your chances of identifying and catching one.

How Rare Is a Shiny Ditto in Pokemon GO?
In *Pokemon GO*, the chance of encountering a Shiny Ditto in the wild is 1 in 64, making it a very rare find. This rarity is compounded by the challenge of first finding a Ditto in disguise. To improve your chances of encountering a Shiny Ditto, you can use spawn-increasing items like Incenses and Lure Modules to boost the number of spawns, hoping that some of these will be Ditto, and possibly a Shiny one.
Even without extra PokeCoins to spend on items, you can use your free Daily Adventure Incense to briefly increase your odds of finding a Ditto, or even a Shiny Ditto, during its 15-minute duration.
Now that you're equipped with the knowledge of Ditto's disguises for March 2025, make sure to use the latest *Pokemon GO* promo codes to redeem free items. Additionally, find out if you can evolve Dunsparce in *Pokemon GO* to add another evolution to your Pokedex.
