Marvel Contest of Champions Champion Cards Guide

Author : Hazel Feb 20,2025

Marvel Contest of Champions (MCoC) extends beyond the mobile realm; it boasts an arcade version at Dave & Buster's, offering a distinct take on the game's action. This arcade cabinet allows two-player 3v3 battles, with victory going to the best of three rounds. The unique feature? Both players receive a Champion Card after each match – a physical collectible featuring a Marvel hero or villain from the game.

These cards aren't just collectibles; they're also in-game assets. Scan them into the arcade machine to choose specific champions before a match. With two series released, over 175 cards exist, including standard and foil variants. This guide covers everything about MCoC Champion Cards, whether you're focused on gameplay or collection.

What are Champion Cards?

MCoC Champion Cards are physical trading cards dispensed by MCoC arcade machines at Dave & Buster's. They represent in-game characters and are used to select champions in the arcade game. Unscanned cards result in random champion selection.

Each card showcases a Marvel character from MCoC and comes in a foil variant, mirroring other collectible arcade cards (e.g., Mario Kart Arcade GP, Injustice Arcade). Series 1 featured 75 champions; Series 2 added 100, including reskins and new characters.

A card is dispensed to each player post-match, regardless of the outcome. Winning doesn't influence the card received. Cards are drawn from Series 1 (75 champions) or Series 2 (100 champions), each with a rarer foil variant.

Champion Cards aren't mandatory for arcade play but enhance strategy and personalization. Players bypass random champion assignments by scanning their preferred cards. While not transferable to the mobile MCoC, they add a sought-after collectible element. For mobile MCoC improvement tips, see our beginner's guide!

Champion Card Rarity and Collectibility

Like traditional trading cards, MCoC Champion Cards have collector value. While in-game functionality is identical, collecting the full set, including foil versions, is appealing. Series 2 introduced new designs and reskins, leading to multiple versions of some cards.

Available Cards:

  • Series 1 (2019): 75 cards featuring classic MCoC characters.
  • Series 2 (later release): 100 cards, including Series 1 reskins and new characters.
  • Foil variants: Rarer, more valuable versions of standard cards.

Completionists aim for the full set; others seek favorite characters or foil cards. Their Dave & Buster's exclusivity enhances their appeal to Marvel fans.

For digital roster building, play MCoC on PC with BlueStacks for enhanced control, screen size, and smoother gameplay!

Where to Get Marvel Contest of Champions Champion Cards

Currently, these cards are exclusive to Dave & Buster's locations with the MCoC arcade cabinet. They aren't available in the in-game store or through mobile MCoC.

Collection Strategies:

  • Frequent arcade gameplay for new cards.
  • Trading with other players.
  • Online marketplaces for purchasing extra cards.

Keep an eye on Dave & Buster's updates for potential future series releases.

MCoC Champion Cards add a physical collectible dimension to the arcade experience. Whether for in-game use or Marvel fandom, they offer a unique engagement beyond the mobile app.
