Marvel Rivals follows the footsteps of Overwatch with its Spring Festival event

Marvel Rivals' Spring Festival event kicks off this Thursday! Get ready for a free Star-Lord costume and a unique game mode: Clash of Dancing Lions. This 3v3 mode challenges teams to score a ball in their opponent's goal.

While the gameplay might evoke comparisons to Rocket League, it bears a closer resemblance to Overwatch's Lucioball—a testament to the enduring appeal of this style of game. This similarity is particularly interesting given Marvel Rivals' current trajectory. The game has seemingly outpaced Overwatch in popularity and needs to establish its own unique identity. Launching its major event with a mode echoing Overwatch's inaugural event is a noteworthy observation, although the Marvel Rivals version incorporates strong Chinese New Year themes, unlike Overwatch's Olympic Games theme.
