Marvel Rivals Season 1 Mid-Season Update: No Rank Reset

A recent announcement from NetEase Games regarding the Marvel Rivals Season 1 mid-season update has clarified the situation surrounding a potential rank reset. Initially, a reset was planned for February 21, 2025, coinciding with the release of The Thing and Human Torch. However, due to significant negative player feedback, NetEase has reversed this decision.

The developers acknowledged the community's concerns about the frequency of rank resets impacting the competitive experience. Consequently, there will be no rank reset at the start of the second half of Season 1. Players will retain their existing ranks and scores. New rewards, including a Gold rank costume and various Crests of Honor, will be earned by completing 10 competitive matches and meeting specific conditions by the season's end.

This decision showcases NetEase's responsiveness to player feedback, a positive sign for the game's future. The mid-season update will still introduce The Thing and Human Torch, alongside unspecified character balance adjustments.

What's New in the Mid-Season Update?

Beyond the absence of a rank reset, the Marvel Rivals Season 1 mid-season update will include:

  • The addition of The Thing and Human Torch as playable characters.
  • Balance adjustments to existing characters (specific details are yet to be revealed).

Marvel Rivals is currently available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
