Marvel Rivals: How to Play Mister Fantastic

Marvel Rivals: Mastering Mister Fantastic, the Stretchy Strategist

Marvel Rivals delivers a thrilling hero-shooter experience, boasting diverse gameplay and stunning visuals. The game's roster expands with each season, and Season 1 introduces iconic Fantastic Four heroes, including the versatile Mister Fantastic.

Mister Fantastic is classified as a dualist, excelling at both mobility and damage. His unique ability to grapple and pull himself towards allies or enemies is central to his gameplay. His impact on the meta remains to be seen, but his potential is undeniable.

Mister Fantastic's Primary Attack

Mister Fantastic's primary attack, Stretch Punch, is a surprisingly versatile three-hit combo. The first two strikes utilize a single fist, while the final strike employs both. The stretched arm continues to deal damage as it travels, impacting all enemies in its path, effectively creating area-of-effect damage. This contrasts with more focused attacks like Storm's Wind Blade.

Mister Fantastic's Abilities

Mister Fantastic possesses a range of abilities, best explored in the training room. Each ability contributes to his Elastic Strength passive, significantly boosting his damage output when fully charged. Key stats to monitor include his health (350 base) and Elasticity (visible near the crosshair). Base attacks generate 5 Elasticity; aiming for 100 is crucial to maximize his potential. He has a 3-star difficulty rating, making him challenging but manageable for players of all skill levels.

Reflexive Rubber

  • Active Ability
  • 12-second duration

Mister Fantastic transforms into a rectangular shape, absorbing all incoming damage for the duration. Upon expiration, he unleashes the stored damage in the direction of the player's reticle.

Flexible Elongation

  • Active Ability
  • 3-second duration
  • Generates 30 Elasticity

This ability provides a shield, boosting Mister Fantastic's health from 350 to 425. He pulls himself towards a target, dealing damage to enemies or granting a shield to allies, offering both offensive and defensive utility. It has two charges.

Distended Grip

  • Active Ability
  • 6-second duration
  • Generates 30 Elasticity

This ability allows Mister Fantastic to grapple a target, presenting three options: Dash (pulls him towards the target), Impact (deals damage), and a double-grapple option, allowing him to slam two enemies together for increased damage.

Wedded Harmony

  • Team-Up Ability (requires Invisible Woman)
  • 20-second duration

This ability heals Mister Fantastic for any lost health, but doesn't provide shields. It's particularly effective when combined with Invisible Woman, a Strategist character.

Elastic Strength

  • Passive Ability

Each ability use builds Elasticity, increasing damage output. At maximum Elasticity, Mister Fantastic undergoes a transformation, gaining a significant damage and shield boost. The shield decays over time, but remains partially active even after the transformation ends. Inactivity causes Elasticity to decay.

Brainiac Bounce

  • Ultimate Ability

Mister Fantastic leaps into the air and crashes down, dealing area-of-effect damage, then bounces to repeat the attack multiple times, devastating grouped enemies.

Tips for Playing Mister Fantastic

Mister Fantastic's damage mitigation and shield generation make him surprisingly tanky.

Flexible Reflection

Combining Flexible Elongation and Reflexive Rubber provides both shields for Mister Fantastic and his ally, allowing for effective damage absorption and counter-attack.

Rushing Reflexive Rubber

Using Reflexive Rubber strategically, even when not actively building Elastic Strength, can maximize his inflated state, offering both objective presence and team damage. Stacking shields can potentially increase his health pool to 950.
