The once-impossible dream of Marvel Rivals on Nintendo Switch is now looking increasingly likely. NetEase previously dismissed a release on the original Switch due to technical limitations, but the upcoming Switch 2 could change everything.
At the DICE Summit, producer Weikang Wu revealed ongoing discussions with Nintendo. The key hurdle? Ensuring consistently smooth gameplay on the new hardware. Wu stated: "The first-generation Switch simply didn’t have the power to deliver the gameplay experience we envisioned. But if the Switch 2 can handle it, we’re absolutely ready to bring the game to the platform."

Game director Thaddeus Sasser previously confirmed there are no current plans for a mobile version or a release on the original Switch. A Switch 2 port, if it happens, would necessitate a custom build optimized for the console's capabilities.
The officially announced Nintendo Switch 2 is already attracting major support. Phil Spencer has indicated Xbox's interest in bringing its games to the platform, and Electronic Arts (EA) has also expressed its enthusiasm.
Meanwhile, Marvel Rivals continues to expand, with the Fantastic Four set to join the roster in future updates.
