NetEase Games has announced a ban on using keyboard and mouse adapters with Marvel Rivals on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. The company cites unfair competitive advantages stemming from increased control sensitivity and aiming assistance provided by these devices. Adapters like XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper, which simulate gamepad input from keyboard and mouse, are specifically targeted. NetEase states that such emulation creates an imbalance, particularly in competitive modes, and has implemented detection tools to identify and ban offending accounts.
Separately, a correlation has been observed between higher FPS and increased ping in Marvel Rivals. While less noticeable with already low ping, a jump to 150ms from a typical 90ms can significantly impact gameplay. This issue appears linked to frame rate. Currently, players are advised to wait for a patch and experiment to find an optimal FPS/ping ratio, with some suggesting maintaining around 90 FPS as a temporary solution.
