  • The battle pass for Season 1 will cost $10 and include 10 skins, with players earning 600 Lattice and 600 Units while progressing.
  • Balancing changes in Season 1 will nerf Hela and Hawkeye, while boosting mobility-based Vanguards like Captain America and Venom, alongside buffs for Wolverine, Storm, Cloak, and Dagger.

NetEase Games has released an exciting developer update detailing the upcoming Season 1 of Marvel Rivals, set to launch on January 10 at 1 AM PST. Titled "Eternal Night Falls," this season will feature Dracula as the main antagonist, adding a thrilling new dimension to the game. Fans can also look forward to the addition of The Fantastic Four to the ever-expanding roster, with Mister Fantastic and The Invisible Woman joining at the season's start, followed by Human Torch and The Thing six to seven weeks later.

The developer post also introduced three new maps and a new game mode called Doom Match. The Season 1 battle pass, priced at 990 Lattice (approximately $10), will offer 10 skins. As players progress through the battle pass by completing objectives, they'll earn 600 Lattice and 600 Units, enhancing their gaming experience.

In terms of gameplay balance, Season 1 will bring significant changes. Hela and Hawkeye, who have dominated Season 0 and often faced bans in higher ranks, will be nerfed to level the playing field. Conversely, the developers aim to bolster the performance of mobility-based Vanguards such as Captain America and Venom, who are crucial for rushing into battle.

Further balancing adjustments include buffs for Wolverine and Storm, encouraging new strategies and playstyles. Fans have long requested enhancements for these iconic mutants, with some even suggesting a class change for Wolverine to Vanguard. Cloak and Dagger will also receive boosts to improve their versatility across various team compositions. Additionally, NetEase Games will address issues with Jeff the Land Shark, particularly the discrepancy between his ultimate's warning signals and its actual hitbox. Despite some players feeling Jeff's ultimate is overpowered, no major alterations have been announced yet.

While NetEase Games did not discuss the Seasonal Bonus feature, it remains a topic of interest and debate among the community, with many hoping for a more balanced approach in future updates. Overall, Season 1 of Marvel Rivals promises a wealth of new content and exciting updates, and the community's anticipation is palpable as the launch date approaches.
