Marvel Snap shakes things up with the new Sanctum Showdown mode

Author : Christopher Mar 21,2025

Conquer the Sanctum in Marvel Snap's new limited-time mode, Sanctum Showdown! Available until March 11th, this mode introduces a fresh competitive experience.

First to 16 points wins! Forget the usual six-turn structure; Sanctum Showdown is a race to accumulate 16 points. The key? The Sanctum location, awarding the most points each turn. Snapping mechanics are also revamped. Starting on turn three, you can snap once per turn to boost the Sanctum's point value, creating constant shifts in momentum.

Each match costs one Scroll, but victory earns you another, keeping the gameplay flowing. You begin with 12 Scrolls, replenishing by two every eight hours. Run out? Purchase more for 40 Gold. Regardless of win or loss, every match increases your Sorcerer Rank and earns Charms, redeemable in the Sanctum Shop for cosmetics and new cards.

Strategic planning is crucial! Note that some cards and locations are banned to ensure fair play. Abilities affecting final outcomes are disabled, and cards like Debrii are removed to prevent overpowered strategies. Captain Marvel and Dracula, for example, won't be changing the tide here.

Use our Marvel Snap tier list to craft the ultimate Sanctum Showdown deck!

Looking to add Laufey, Gorgon, or Uncle Ben to your collection? Sanctum Showdown offers your only chance to obtain these cards before their March 13th Token Shop release. Earn them (along with up to four Series 4 or 5 cards) via Portal Pulls.

Don't miss out! Sanctum Showdown ends March 11th. Visit the official website for details.
