Bandai Namco's popular fortress strategy RPG, Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage, is officially shutting down on December 9th, 2024, ending a nearly seven-year run. This news, while sad for fans, isn't entirely unexpected, mirroring the fate of other Naruto gacha games like Naruto Blazing.
The Final Countdown:
Launched in 2017, the game will continue operation until its December 9th closure. Players can enjoy several upcoming events before the end:
- Village Leader World Championship: October 8th - 18th
- All-Out Mission: October 18th - November 1st
- "Thanks For Everything" Campaign: November 1st - December 1st
Players can continue collecting Ninja Cards, participating in summons, and using in-game items until the shutdown. It's advisable to spend any remaining Gold Coins.
What Led to the Shutdown?
While initially praised for its balanced gameplay, featuring village building, trap setting, and character defense, Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage eventually suffered from several issues. The introduction of Minato Namikaze marked a shift towards power creep, alienating players. Increasingly blatant pay-to-win mechanics, reduced free-to-play rewards, and the decline of multiplayer features further contributed to the game's decline. These factors ultimately led to its eventual closure. The game remains available on the Google Play Store for those wishing to experience it before its final day.
