In honor of the 15th Anniversary of NieR, Square Enix announced a range of exciting projects during their livestream on April 19. Among the highlights is the online Special Novel titled [U]ndecided Option, which promises to captivate fans with its mysterious narrative.

The novel will be released in three parts, with the first already available to read. The subsequent updates will be released on April 25 and May 2. The story teases an intriguing plot, described as, "Such a 'servant' meets a mysterious boy with a mysterious air and is guided."

To centralize all the anniversary festivities, Square Enix also launched a dedicated 15th Anniversary website, which will serve as the hub for the special novel and other related projects and events.

Exhibition, Concerts, Merchandise, and More

Square Enix is set to host an exhibition at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, Japan, showcasing new artwork of the protagonists from NieR: Replicant, NieR: Automata, and NieR Re[in]carnation. Keep an eye out for further details on tickets and dates.

For music enthusiasts, additional performances for the NieR: Orchestra Concert 12024 have been scheduled in Osaka on July 25 and 26, and in Tokyo on August 2 and 3. Tickets are currently available through a lottery system, with more information accessible on the concert's official website.

Fans can also look forward to a variety of new merchandise. This includes an album featuring newly recorded jazz arrangements from NieR: Dinner Show – Somethin’ or Other 12024, set for release in December 2024. Additionally, the NieR Weapon Story book will offer over 650 stories about the weapons seen in Replicant, Automata, and Re[in]carnation, alongside scale figures of the series' protagonists.

Starting April 28, NieR Re[in]carnation will launch a developer blog series, offering monthly insights into the creation process of the mobile title. Despite the game's closure in April 2024 due to monetization issues, the blog aims to keep fans engaged and informed.

The launch of Re[in]carnation in January 2021 was met with enthusiasm, but its sudden shutdown has left fans questioning the purpose of the developer blog. Speculation about a possible sequel or remake is rife, though no official confirmation has been provided.

The livestream concluded with an over 20-minute live performance of soundtracks from the NieR franchise, leaving fans eager for more. Square Enix promises additional events and merchandise announcements in the near future, ensuring the celebration of NieR's 15th Anniversary continues to captivate and engage its dedicated fanbase.
