Owlcat Games Expands into Publishing, Focusing on Narrative-Driven Titles

Owlcat Games, renowned for its acclaimed cRPGs like Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous and Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, has announced its foray into game publishing. This strategic move, building on their acquisition of META Publishing in 2021, aims to support and amplify the creation of compelling narrative-driven games.

Pathfinder Devs Owlcat Games Become Publishers

The publisher's initiative reflects Owlcat's dedication to enriching the gaming landscape beyond its own development efforts. They seek collaborations with studios sharing their passion for immersive storytelling, offering resources and expertise to help bring unique narratives to life.

Owlcat's Publishing Portfolio: Two Promising Titles

Owlcat has already partnered with two studios:

  • Emotion Spark Studio (Serbia): Developing Rue Valley, a narrative RPG centered around a protagonist trapped in a time loop within a mysterious town. The game explores themes of mental health and self-discovery as the character unravels the town's secrets.

  • Another Angle Games (Poland): Creating Shadow of the Road, an isometric RPG set in an alternate feudal Japan. This title blends samurai culture, honor, and tactical turn-based combat within a world infused with yokai and steampunk technology.

Both Rue Valley and Shadow of the Road are in early development, with further details expected soon. Owlcat plans to provide regular updates as these projects progress.

Owlcat's expansion into publishing signifies a commitment to fostering diverse storytelling in gaming, showcasing emerging talent and enriching the overall gaming experience for players globally. Their support will undoubtedly contribute to a wider variety of high-quality narrative-driven games in the future.
