Pausing During Solo Hunts
To pause your hunt in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, open the menu by pressing the Options button, then use L1/R1 to navigate to the Systems tab. Select the Pause Game option with the X button.
This completely freezes gameplay – even mid-combat – letting you handle real-world interruptions safely. Simply press Circle or R3 to resume your hunt when ready. The feature works seamlessly as long as you're playing solo without any party members.
Is Pausing Possible in Multiplayer?
Multiplayer sessions disable the pause function entirely. If other hunters join your lobby or you've formed a link party, you'll need to manually retreat to safe zones when stepping away. Remember that monster health scales with player count, so prolonged absences may put your team at a disadvantage.
