The Pokémon Trading Card Game (PTCGO) Space Time Smackdown expansion, released January 30th, features a Weavile ex card depicting a scene that has sparked significant online debate. Specifically, the 2-Star full-art version shows Weavile poised to attack a Swinub, prompting outrage from many players.

Reddit posts highlight the graphic nature of the artwork, with users expressing concern for the Swinub's fate. The image's depiction of Pokémon predation has resonated with many, generating nearly 10,000 upvotes on a single Reddit thread. Comments range from simple pleas to "Leave the lil guy alone" to broader reflections on the often-violent implications of the Pokémon world's ecology.

However, some fans offer a more optimistic interpretation, pointing to a Mamoswine full-art card showing the evolved Swinub seemingly watchful and protective of younger Swinub. This is presented as a potential "happy ending," suggesting Mamoswine successfully defended its offspring from the Weavile.

Space Time Smackdown, a Diamond and Pearl-themed set, includes 207 cards – fewer than Genetic Apex's 286, but with a higher percentage (52 out of 207) of alternate art, Star, and Crown rarity cards. The set features popular Pokémon like Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina, alongside Weavile and Mamoswine.

Despite the controversy surrounding the Weavile card and a recent trading update, Creatures Inc. has yet to publicly address the concerns. While a "Trade Feature Celebration Gift" offered 500 Trade Tokens and 120 Trade Hourglasses, the developer remains silent on fan feedback, including a request for comment from IGN.
