- Flamigo will make its debut during the Carnival of Flamigo event
- The celebration runs from February 3rd through February 8th
- Players can expect numerous bonuses and special encounters throughout the period
Following Glimmet’s arrival in Pokémon Go via the Into the Depths event, Niantic has already scheduled their next first appearance. Another new species is set to join the roster with a splash of color, as Flamigo takes center stage during a Carnival-themed celebration coming up next week.
The Carnival of Flamigo event spans from February 3rd to 8th, introducing Flamigo—the Synchronize Pokémon—to Pokémon Go for the very first time. Fans of Scarlet and Violet likely saw this one coming, continuing the trend of bringing in Gen IX Pokémon such as Glimmet and Wattrel ahead of their main game releases.
During the event, wild encounters will feature Flamigo alongside Lotad, Buneary, Pikipek, and Spritzee. Shiny hunters have a slight edge with boosted encounter rates for Shiny Lotad, Shiny Spritzee, and Shiny Pikipek.
Several bonuses complete the experience. Both regular Incense and Daily Adventure Incense will last twice as long during this period. Additionally, catching Flamigo grants an extra 500 Stardust per catch. Event-themed Field Research tasks and Collection Challenges are also available, rewarding players with XP, Stardust, and bonus encounters for completing objectives.
A free Timed Research track is open to all trainers, offering Incense, Stardust, and chances to encounter event Pokémon upon completion before the event ends. For those seeking more rewards, a paid Timed Research option costs $4.99 and includes a Star Piece, an exclusive avatar pose, and additional encounters.
The same price unlocks the Carnival of Flamigo Ultra Ticket Box on the Pokémon Go Web Store, which contains the ticket along with a complimentary Premium Battle Pass.
