The chapter's narrative is a rollercoaster. Despite initial safety at Safe Haven, the illusion quickly shatters. Even after defeating Yarnaby and the Doctor, challenges persist. The Prototype, aware of Poppy's explosive plan, intercepts the explosives, triggering a catastrophic event that enrages Doey. After overcoming Doey, the player encounters the hiding Poppy and Kissy Missy.

A major plot twist reveals Ollie, the seemingly trustworthy ally, to be The Prototype in disguise. The Prototype's ability to mimic voices and manipulate situations is central to the deception, leading Poppy to believe Ollie is her rescuer.

A previously unseen VHS tape reveals a past encounter between Poppy and The Prototype. The tape shows Poppy's despair after a moment of joy, revealing The Prototype's convincing argument that escape from the factory is impossible due to their monstrous transformations and humanity's rejection. Poppy's acceptance of this grim reality leads to her plan to destroy the factory, preventing further transformations.

However, The Prototype anticipates Poppy's plan, thwarting it and threatening to imprison her. The reasons behind his desire to keep Poppy captive remain unclear, but the threat compels Poppy's escape.

Exploring the Laboratory's Significance

Following Poppy's departure, The Prototype attacks the player's hideout. Despite Kissy Missy's attempt to intervene, her injured arm fails her. The player finds themselves in a laboratory containing a poppy garden, the site of the factory's experiments.

This area is likely the game's final setting. Poppy's previous statements indicate this is where The Prototype hides and imprisons orphaned children. The player must likely confront a final boss, rescue the children, and destroy the factory—a challenging task given the lab's security measures and a confrontation with a wounded but still aggressive Huggy Wuggy, possibly the same one from Chapter 1.

Poppy Playtime Chapter 4's ending brings us closer to the climactic confrontation with the final boss, paving the way for the ultimate escape from this nightmarish factory.
