Leaked Gameplay Footage Surfaces for EA's Next Battlefield Game
Early gameplay footage from EA's upcoming Battlefield game has leaked online, originating from a closed Battlefield Labs playtest. As reported by TheGamer, a Twitch user, anto_merguezz, streamed footage from the playtest, which allowed a select group of players to preview and provide feedback on early versions of the game. While no clips remain on anto_merguezz's page, recordings from the stream have circulated online, primarily via Reddit.
The leaked footage seemingly confirms the "modern" setting previously hinted at by Vince Zampella, setting it apart from other Battlefield titles with historical or futuristic settings. The footage showcases intense firefights and highlights the game's destructible environments. Initial fan reactions appear positive, a welcome change after the lukewarm reception of Battlefield 2042's launch.Details about the next Battlefield installment were revealed last month, including the return of a traditional, linear single-player campaign—a feature notably absent from Battlefield 2042, much to the disappointment of many players.
EA currently anticipates launching its next Battlefield game in fiscal year 2026 (April 2025 – March 2026). With the launch approaching, we can likely expect more official reveals soon. Given the current leak, however, it seems containing further leaks might prove challenging for EA.
