The first-person shooter PvP experience on Roblox, Rivals, has just released Update 9, introducing the innovative Gunblade weapon and the new Bridge map to enrich its gameplay. Developer Nosniy Games has outlined the new additions in the patch notes for today's update, which marks a smaller but impactful release as they continue to plan for future enhancements.
Rivals fans are known for their love of the game's FPS mechanics and arsenal, and the Gunblade is set to become a new favorite. This versatile weapon combines the functionality of a rifle and a melee blade, offering players a strategic advantage in combat. It's especially well-suited for the new Bridge map, a close-quarters combat zone set in Seoul, designed by creator @GreatGuyBoom. This map features a suspended, concrete environment that forces immediate and intense player interactions with minimal cover.
Interestingly, the patch notes for Rivals Update 9 do not mention any bug fixes, balance changes, or quality-of-life improvements. Nosniy Games has opted to focus solely on the introduction of the Bridge map and the Gunblade. However, they did make minor adjustments to the skins of the Demon Shorty and Demon Uzi, and renamed several items from "Hexxed" to "Vexed." The team promises that the next major update will introduce the highly anticipated Ranked mode, alongside other requested changes and improvements.
"We hear all of your feedback and want to reassure you all that every necessary & additional changes/improvements will be made in time for Ranked," the developers stated, emphasizing their commitment to the community's needs.
Since its launch last May, Rivals has consistently delivered regular updates, such as Update 7, which introduced the Energy Rifle, Energy Pistols, and Crossbow. The Demon Shorty & Demon Uzi skins have been slightly modified. The Hexxed Flare Gun skin, Hexxed Candle skin, and Hexxed wrap have been renamed to Vexed Flare Gun, Vexed Candle, & Vexed respectively.
