Star Wars Celebration has unveiled our initial glimpse of Rory McCann stepping into the role of Baylan Skoll for Season 2 of *Ahsoka*. For those new to the series, McCann is taking on the mantle from Ray Stevenson, who tragically passed away before the first season's premiere.
While we're yet to witness McCann's performance, the *Ahsoka* panel at Star Wars Celebration provided a first-look image, which you can view below.
Ray Stevenson, celebrated for his roles in *Thor*, *RRR*, *Punisher: War Zone*, *Rome*, and many more, sadly passed away from a brief illness just three months prior to *Ahsoka*'s debut. His portrayal of Baylan Skoll was widely regarded as a highlight of the series' first season.
*Ahsoka* series creator Dave Filoni acknowledged that Stevenson's passing posed a significant challenge in crafting Season 2, describing him as "the most beautiful person on screen and off."
Filoni and the production team also shared exciting updates for Season 2, revealing that Hayden Christensen will reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker, joined by fan-favorites like Admiral Ackbar, Zeb, Chopper, and others.
In our review of the first season of *Ahsoka*, we noted that "the series faces initial challenges as it aims to bring viewers up to speed with characters and concepts from Dave Filoni’s animated Star Wars shows. However, once the narrative and cosmic elements are given room to flourish, *Ahsoka* strikes a compelling balance of deep lore, humor, and epic battles, resonating with the essence of classic Star Wars while also paving a way for fresh narratives."
