Following the brief showcase of Silksong at the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2, many fans speculated that the game might bypass the current generation console. Originally announced in 2019 for PC and the original Switch, and later confirmed for PlayStation and Xbox, Silksong has kept fans eagerly waiting.

On April 8, Matthew Griffin, Team Cherry's Marketing and PR Handler, took to Twitter (X) to address these concerns. Griffin confirmed that Silksong is set to launch on both the original Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2. While specifics on the differences between the versions remain under wraps, it's anticipated that the Switch 2 edition will boast enhanced resolutions and take advantage of the new console's capabilities.
