Smite 2's Open Beta Launches with Aladdin and More!

Smite 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the popular MOBA, has launched its free-to-play open beta across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (via Epic Games Store and Steam), and Steam Deck. This launch includes a significant content update featuring a roster of new gods and game modes.

This Unreal Engine 5 powered sequel boasts refined visuals and combat mechanics, along with a revamped item shop offering greater flexibility. The core gameplay remains true to its predecessor: players choose from diverse gods across various mythologies to engage in 5v5 battles.

The open beta introduces Aladdin, a brand-new god designed specifically for Smite 2, with unique abilities including wall-running and a three-wish revival mechanic. His ultimate ability involves trapping enemies in a 1v1 duel using his magic lamp.

Key Features of the Open Beta:

  • New Gods: Aladdin, Geb (Egyptian God of Earth), Mulan (Chinese Ascendant Warrior), Agni (Hindu Pantheon), and Ullr (Norse Pantheon).
  • Return of Joust: The beloved 3v3 mode makes its comeback.
  • New Map: An Arthurian-themed map adds a fresh environment.
  • Conquest and Assault: Updated Conquest map and an alpha version of Assault mode are included.
  • God Aspects: Optional enhancements for select gods.

The developer, Titan Forge Games, has expressed confidence in Smite 2's superiority over its predecessor, attributing improvements to player feedback gathered during the closed alpha. They've also promised ambitious new content releases throughout 2025.

While available on major platforms, Smite 2 is currently unavailable for Nintendo Switch due to performance concerns. However, the possibility of a future release on the Nintendo Switch 2 remains open. Download Smite 2's open beta today and experience the enhanced MOBA action!
