Splitgate 2 Open Alpha Playtest
The Open Alpha Playtest for Splitgate 2 was announced during Sony's February 2025 State of Play event, running from February 27th to March 3rd, 2025. This marked a significant expansion from last year's PC-only Closed Alpha, extending availability to PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
Participation required no prior registration - the playtest welcomed all players. Official announcements revealed exciting test content including new maps, weapon arsenals, game modes, and an experimental 8v8v8 multiplayer format.
Splitgate 2 Closed Alpha Playtest
The Closed Alpha Playtest concluded earlier on August 25, 2024 after running from August 21st. Access was granted through direct invitations or acquired alpha keys - obtainable either by clicking "Request Access" on Steam or via Twitch Drops after watching partnered streams for two hours.
While initially limited to PC platforms, developers confirmed cross-platform support for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S would be implemented in subsequent 2025 tests.
Xbox Game Pass Availability
As of current announcements, Splitgate 2 has not been confirmed for inclusion in Xbox Game Pass subscriptions.
