"Star Wars: KOTOR Remake Developer Confirms Ongoing Development"

Author : Julian May 25,2025

Saber Interactive has firmly stated that all its previously announced games are still actively in development, despite the lack of updates on high-profile projects such as the eagerly awaited Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) remake. In a reassuring message following the recent announcement of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3, Saber's Chief Creative Officer, Tim Willits, took to social media to affirm that the studio's entire lineup remains on track.

"Saber Interactive is one of the largest independent developers in the world," Willits emphasized. "We are diligently working on numerous games spanning a variety of genres. Every project we've announced is still in development, and we're excited to share more details when the time is right."

The most notable project in question is the KOTOR remake, which has been shrouded in mystery since its announcement in 2021. The game has seen multiple development shifts and restarts, leaving fans in anticipation. In April 2024, Saber Interactive's CEO, Matthew Karch, confirmed that the KOTOR project remained with the company after their split from Embracer Group and was still being actively developed. "It's evident that we're working on this," Karch stated. "It's been widely reported. What I can assure you is that the game is alive and well, and we're committed to surpassing consumer expectations."

Willits' recent statement, coming almost a year after Karch's, reaffirms this commitment. Despite the absence of new visuals or updates beyond the initial announcement video, fans can rest assured that the KOTOR remake is still a priority for Saber Interactive.

In addition to the KOTOR remake, Saber Interactive is busy with a diverse portfolio of upcoming titles. John Carpenter's Toxic Commando and Jurassic Park Survival are slated for release in 2025, though specific dates have yet to be announced. The studio is also developing a new Turok game and an untitled Avatar: The Last Airbender project. The recently announced Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 adds to their growing list of anticipated releases.
