The mobile gaming sensation Monopoly Go is set to excite fans by collaborating with the iconic Star Wars franchise, infusing a touch of science fiction into its classic real estate dice-rolling gameplay. This thrilling partnership was unveiled at the Star Wars Celebration in Japan and is scheduled to run from May 1 to July 2. The event draws inspiration from the epic Skywalker Saga and the adventures of The Mandalorian, promising an unforgettable gaming experience.

During the Star Wars season on Monopoly Go, players can look forward to seeing beloved Star Wars characters transformed into adorable cartoon versions. The season will introduce a Star Wars Go sticker album for players to complete, thrilling podracing events in the Mos Espa Grand Arena, and a range of collectible in-game items, including tokens, shields, and emojis. Imagine the surreal delight of seeing Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Han Solo, R2D2, Yoda, Anakin Skywalker, and Qui-Gon Jinn mingling with Mr. Monopoly, also known as Rich Uncle Pennybags.

This isn't the first time Monopoly Go has ventured into crossover territory. Last September, the game welcomed Marvel characters such as Spider-Man, Wolverine, and the Avengers into its universe, showcasing its knack for engaging collaborations.

Adding to its growing portfolio, publisher Scopely recently acquired the teams behind Pokémon GO, Pikmin Bloom, and Monster Hunter Now through a deal with Niantic, further solidifying its position in the mobile gaming market.

According to a report from our sister site GamesIndustry.biz, Monopoly Go has been ranked as the top game for consumer spending in 2024, amassing an impressive $2.47 billion. This financial success has been complemented by 150 million downloads and 10 million daily users, highlighting the game's widespread popularity and engagement.
