Ubisoft has officially confirmed that Star Wars: Outlaws will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2, although it won't be available at the console's launch on June 5. Instead, fans can look forward to diving into this space adventure on September 4.
For those who haven't experienced Star Wars: Outlaws on PS5, Xbox, or PC, the game is set in the timeline between "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi." It follows the journey of Kay Vess, a small-time criminal who finds herself targeted by a cartel. Our review gave it a score of 7, praising it as "a fun intergalactic heist adventure with great exploration," but noted some drawbacks including "simple stealth, repetitive combat, and a few too many bugs at launch."
While Ubisoft kept details sparse, they did confirm the game's arrival on the Nintendo Switch 2 and provided a release date. This news helps update the Switch 2 Games List, offering a bit of excitement amidst the ongoing pre-order uncertainties for American and Canadian gamers. These uncertainties stem from Nintendo's evaluation of the new tariffs introduced by the Republican administration.
The announcement came during a panel at Star Wars Celebration in Japan, where Ubisoft also unveiled details about the second story pack for Star Wars: Outlaws, titled "A Pirate’s Fortune." In this expansion, Kay Vess teams up with Hondo Ohnaka to confront Stinger Tash, the leader of the Rokana Raiders. "Star Wars: Outlaws: A Pirate’s Fortune" is set to launch on May 15, adding more content for fans to enjoy.
