"Star Wars Tactics Game Unveiled at 2025 Celebration"

Author : Owen May 15,2025

Get ready, Star Wars fans! EA's highly anticipated turn-based tactics game set in the Star Wars universe is set to be unveiled at Star Wars Celebration 2025. Announced back in early 2022, this untitled strategy game is being crafted by Bit Reactor, a studio made up of seasoned veterans from Firaxis Games, renowned for their stellar work on the XCOM franchise. Bit Reactor has been collaborating closely with Respawn Entertainment, the minds behind the Star Wars Jedi series, to bring this new project to life, and they're finally ready to showcase their efforts.

Mark your calendars for April 19, as the game will be introduced during a live panel featuring the lead development team from Bit Reactor, alongside representatives from Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games. This exciting reveal was confirmed on the official Star Wars Celebration 2025 schedule.

While details about this intriguing game remain scarce, including its setting within the Star Wars timeline and the specifics of its gameplay, fans can expect a strategic experience akin to XCOM, given the developers' background. This game promises to immerse players in the rich Star Wars universe with its tactical gameplay.

In other news, Respawn Entertainment continues to work on the third installment of their Star Wars Jedi trilogy, though it won’t be making an appearance at this year's Celebration. Previously, Respawn was developing another Star Wars game, an untitled first-person shooter rumored to feature a Mandalorian protagonist. Unfortunately, this project was canceled during a significant restructuring at EA, which resulted in approximately 670 job losses. Additionally, earlier in March, Respawn quietly canceled a multiplayer first-person shooter incubation project, affecting an unknown number of team members.

At Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm will also treat attendees to a sneak peek of The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, slated for release in May 2026, and a first look at Star Wars: Visions Volume 3. The event promises to be packed with exciting reveals and updates for Star Wars enthusiasts.
