"Sybo's Subway Surfers City Soft-Launches on iOS, Android"

Author : Ava Apr 19,2025

It's a thrilling Friday for mobile gamers as Sybo, the developer behind the iconic Subway Surfers, has stealth-dropped a new game titled Subway Surfers City. Available in soft launch for both iOS and Android, this sequel promises to bring enhanced graphics and a host of features that have been added to the original game over the years. Although we haven't had the chance to dive in yet, the app stores give us a glimpse of what to expect.

Subway Surfers City is not just a new chapter but a sequel that aims to refresh the beloved endless runner. Since its initial release in 2012, the original game has evolved significantly, yet it's showing signs of age. Subway Surfers City steps in with familiar characters, new additions like hoverboards, and, of course, revamped graphics to breathe new life into the franchise.

Currently, the soft launch for iOS is available in the UK, Canada, Denmark, Indonesia, the Netherlands, and the Philippines. Android users in Denmark and the Philippines can also get their hands on it. If you're in one of these regions, you can grab Subway Surfers City now and experience the new city firsthand.

Given that the Unity engine used in the original is showing its age and limiting further development, a sequel makes perfect sense. The stealth-drop approach is intriguing, especially for a franchise as globally popular as Subway Surfers.

We're eager to see how players react to Subway Surfers City and when it will be available worldwide. Here's hoping it meets the high expectations set by its predecessor.

If you're not in the selected regions and can't access the game yet, don't worry. You can explore some of the top five games we've recommended to try this week while you wait. Alternatively, take a look at our ever-growing list of the best mobile games of 2024 (so far)!
