While this news is exciting for collectors, fans eagerly awaiting The Winds of Winter remain in suspense. Martin's December 2024 interview hinted at the possibility of never completing the series, despite having written 1100 pages as of November 2023. It seems likely that all five illustrated editions will be released before The Winds of Winter sees publication.
