Total Chaos Surprise Launch Brings Psychological Horror to PC and Consoles Today

Author : Logan Apr 09,2026

Publisher Apogee Entertainment and developer Trigger Happy Interactive made an appearance at the Xbox Partner Preview to announce their first-person psychological horror game, Total Chaos, isn’t just launching with a release date—it’s already available today.

The unexpected release follows the Turbo Overkill studio’s decision to push its original July launch window to a broader Q4 2025 rollout earlier this year. That sudden delay left fans in suspense as anticipation built for Sam Prebble’s survival horror title, but now, as revealed in its latest trailer, the wait is finally over.

Trigger Happy describes Total Chaos as a descent into madness set in the most sinister parts of Fort Oasis. As a full-fledged game that began as a Doom 2 mod, players can expect to wield a variety of firearms—essential tools for surviving the eerie creatures lurking around every corner.

Beyond its chilling atmosphere and humble origins, Total Chaos has drawn attention for the impressive team behind it. Prebble, known for leading Trigger Happy, brings deep experience in visual effects, with notable work on films such as Avatar and Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Additionally, acclaimed composer Akira Yamaoka, famed for his work on the Silent Hill series, composed the game’s haunting soundtrack.

Total Chaos is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S.
