According to an insider known as fraxiswinning, Ubisoft is set to unveil Rainbow Six Siege 2 at the Six Invitational 2025, scheduled to be held at the MGM Music Hall from February 14–16. The project, reportedly codenamed Siege X, is said to operate on an enhanced engine with upgraded graphics, featuring revamped textures and models.
Additionally, it's rumored that the temporary events from the original game might not make a comeback—Ubisoft is apparently focusing on introducing fresh events. The anticipated release for this sequel is slated for the second season of the tenth year of support, which falls around mid-2025.
Previously, Alexander Karpazis, the creative director of Rainbow Six Siege, expressed that a full sequel was unnecessary due to the ongoing development of the current version. However, if these leaks hold true, it seems Ubisoft might have reconsidered their stance.
As with all rumors, it's wise to approach this information with caution. Without an official statement from Ubisoft, it remains speculative.
The Rainbow Six Siege World Championship, Six Invitational 2025, is on the horizon, set to take place in Boston. Here, twenty teams will vie for a share of a $3,000,000 prize pool and the championship title. Oxygen Esports, having clinched victory in the North American Last Chance Qualifier, has secured the final spot in the competition.
A tournament featuring twenty teams is a rare occurrence. While Ubisoft is likely to maintain the format from the previous year—four groups engaging in a round-robin format among five teams, followed by Double Elimination playoffs—there's always the possibility of a surprise twist in the structure.
In this setup, the first-place team earns a bye in the first round, the fourth-place team starts in the lower bracket, the rest of the teams enter the playoffs in the upper bracket, and the last-placed team from each group is eliminated.
