Valhalla Survival's latest major update introduces new systems and significant challenges. Lionheart Studio has officially implemented a Hero Ascension System into the game. This is accompanied by a wide array of new battlefield items.
How Does the New System Work?
The Hero Ascension System allows you to power up your heroes using collected Hero Shards. Each ascension level enhances both general Hero skills and abilities specific to their class. Furthermore, it unlocks a secondary skill slot, enabling you to equip abilities from other heroes.
Every ascension attempt is guaranteed to succeed. Reaching specific tiers grants cumulative passive bonuses for your heroes. Unlocking milestone levels also rewards you with exclusive profile icons and frames that showcase your achievements.
You can view all heroes available for ascension in the Hero Advancement menu. There, you can also preview how their skills will evolve before finalizing the upgrade.
The initial ascension tier improves hero skills and activates the additional skill slot. The second tier focuses on strengthening class-specific abilities. Higher tiers with more powerful enhancements are planned for future updates.
Introducing the Hero Trial System
This feature lets you test heroes you haven't yet unlocked. You enter a dedicated five-minute stage where enemies attack but cannot deal actual damage to your character.
During the trial, hero skills operate on a fixed 10-second cooldown, and a predefined level and equipment set is applied. If the hero you're testing has unlocked ascension effects, those will be active for the trial duration.
The update also introduces three new treasure chest items: Flames of Muspelheim, Footsteps of Loki, and Coin of Fate. Each provides unique combat effects, ranging from offensive fire projection to brief moments of invincibility.
Additionally, Nightmare Mode now includes a challenging fifth chapter designed for veteran players. If you haven't experienced this hack-and-slash roguelike yet, you can download Valhalla Survival from the Google Play Store.
